https://mail.ajemb.us/index.php/gp/article/view/447

This study aims to analyze the influence of training and communication on the work motivation of personnel of the Air Police Directorate (Ditpoludara) of the National Police by positioning pilot competency as an intervening variable. This study uses a quantitative method with an explanatory research approach. The research population consists of all pilots of the Police Directorate who are actively on duty, totaling 179 individuals, with a sample of 123 respondents determined using the Slovin formula and selected through proportional random sampling. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a Likert scale of 1–5, which was distributed via Google Forms. The data analysis technique employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) using SmartPLS software. The results of the hypothesis testing showed that communication and training had a positive and significant effect on work motivation, while leadership had no significant effect on either motivation or competency. Competency was also shown to have a significant effect on work motivation, while communication, leadership, and training had no significant effect on competency. In addition, competency was not found to mediate the influence of leadership, communication, and training on work motivation.
Arshi Adam Satriadi, M. Chaerul Rizky, Toyib Daulay

https://mail.ajemb.us/index.php/gp/article/view/445

The maritime industry is currently facing two major transformations, namely digitalization and decarbonization within the framework of “Shipping 4.0,” which demand fundamental changes in leadership practices. Although the adoption of technology is advancing rapidly, the human role remains a key factor in ensuring the successful implementation of these transformations. This study aims to examine the evolution of digital leadership in the maritime sector through a systematic literature review of scientific publications from 2020 to 2025. The method employed is a systematic literature review of 30 relevant primary sources, involving a process of selection, analysis, and thematic synthesis of findings. The results indicate a shift from traditional hierarchical leadership models toward more adaptive, data-driven, and socio-technical leadership. Digital leadership is identified not only as a technical competence but also as a strategic necessity capable of integrating autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and sustainability. This study also proposes the conceptual framework of the “Maritime Digital Triad” as a theoretical contribution to understanding the complexities of leadership in the digital age. In conclusion, digital leadership plays a crucial role in bridging the challenges of technology and human resources while opening avenues for further research, particularly in the adaptive and sustainable management of maritime human resources.
Zenitalia Zenitalia, Andini Nurwulandari, Irma Setyawati, Hasanudin Hasanudin

The research approach used is quantitative. The population in this study is Generation Z, aged 18–27 years, in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The sample of this study consisted of 250 respondents who were selected using a non-random sampling method with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires. https://mail.ajemb.us/index.php/gp/article/view/446

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of financial literacy, lifestyle, financial planning, and financial burden on the saving behavior of employees at HotHotPot Restaurant Medan, both partially and simultaneously. This research is a quantitative study using a causal-associative approach. The population in this study consists of all 50 employees of HotHotPot Restaurant Medan. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling (census), in which the entire population is used as the research sample. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique employed was multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 31, preceded by classical assumption tests, including tests of normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and linearity. The results show that: (1) financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on saving behavior; (2) lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on saving behavior; (3) financial planning has a positive and significant effect on saving behavior; (4) financial burden has a significant negative effect on saving behavior; and (5) simultaneously, financial literacy, lifestyle, financial planning, and financial burden have a significant effect on saving behavior. The adjusted R-squared value of 0.916 indicates that the four independent variables are able to explain 91.6% of the variation in saving behavior, while the remaining 8.4% is explained by other variables outside this study.
Ardyn Sari Sinaga, Noni Ardian, Hernawaty
